Fans of her shows know her as fun and funky, a bubbly personality with a sharp sense of humour who is a natural behind the microphone.
Little wonder this go-getter DJ is making a name for herself in the competitive world of local radio – and it helps that she has energy by the bucketload to devote to everything she does.
Poppy Ntshongwana is on three shows on 5FM, travels the country as an MC, is a sought-after club DJ and recently launched her own website, poppyn.co.za, which she runs and updates singlehandedly.
“I’ve slept for only 10 hours in the past week,” the 27-year-old says, sipping a bottle of mineral water as she chats to us in her home in Johannesburg. “I’m used to being tired. I don’t even feel it any more.”
