Smoothie with chocolate

Make kids’ favourite foods using ingredients that keep their bodies - and brains - in tip-top condition. Children love milkshakes. For an ideal light lunch make them with berries - which are packed with antioxidants - and yoghurt instead of ice cream. Add a little chocolate but make sure it’s dark chocolate which contains antioxidants.

INGREDIENTS: 100 g dark chocolate, melted; 1 banana, peeled (optional); 250 ml (1 c) strawberries, chopped; 250 ml (1 c) blueberries; 250 ml (1 c) mulberries; juice of 1 lemon; 125 ml (½ c) plain yoghurt; 60 ml (¼ c) milk; chopped nuts such as almonds for sprinkling (optional); extra berries for garnishing (optional)

METHOD: Place all the ingredients (except the optional nuts and extra berries) in a food processor and process until smooth. Pour into glasses and top with the nuts and extra berries (if using).
