He’s performed with the likes of Elton John, Beyoncé and Josh Groban, headlined sold-out concerts around the world and hosted a one-hour musical showcase on a major US TV network – all before his 11th birthday.
Meet Ethan Bortnick, the piano-playing wünderkind of Florida, America, who became an international prodigy almost overnight.
With 10-year-old Ethan’s star still rising he was in South Africa recently as part of a world tour to give music-lovers a taste of his brilliance at a concert at Gold Reef City, Joburg.
“I’m just an ordinary kid with a talent for playing the piano,” he tells YOU’s Latashia Naidoo from Florida shortly before he departs for our shores – a trip he’s excited about.
“I’ve never been to South Africa before but I know it’s in Africa and all the way at the bottom. I’m just glad to be able to share my talents with my South African fans.”
