A couple of Nigel in Gauteng who can’t have children and are too old to adopt but longed for a little one decided to get the next best thing – a baby monkey to fill the void. And like a human baby, he is dressed and fed and doted on.

But Johan and Marinda Homan went one step further: they had their son christened to promise God they will look after the life He has entrusted to them.

Aiden is a capuchin monkey – one of the most intelligent species in the world. These monkeys are so clever they can carry out commands and because their hands are like humans’ they’re helpful in the home.

Capuchins have a lifespan of about 40 years and dad Johan says he’s grateful Aiden will be able to look after them in their old age.

100 pc madness. There's parentless children out there to be adopted, why they did'nt pick up one easy to communiicate with and be taken gud care of? Animals belong to the animal world. They are taking the monkey's freedom away now. This is selfishness.

There out of there minds, capuchin monkeys is not the best pets after maturity, Aiden will start biting Johan after he became a mature male, If he is male afterwords, 80% of the breeders sex monkeys wrong. There gender looks the same but is diffrend. SoIi think they must start thinking of rehab and release the monkey at a santuary!!! NO old age care from Aiden to them.. sorry i burst your bubble, but this is reality..

johan and marinda homan need psychological help. There is something wrong with them. And Johan is grateful that the monkey can look after them in their old age? He is already old,he is 76!
