It truly is an emotional roller coaster watching This Is It, especially for MJ fans. We’re reminded of his unexpected death and wowed all over again by his enormous talent while watching him rehearse for a show that didn’t happen.
This Is It is a collage of video footage from his Los Angeles rehearsals for what’s believed would have been his final concert series, filmed weeks before his death on 25 June 2009.
You get a glimpse of the gentle, considerate and affectionate soul he was as well as of a man who pushed himself and those around him, never settling for less than perfection with each performance. Also fascinating to see is the amount of work the crew put in and how Michael was involved in everything from the biggest to the smallest decisions about the concert.
You might shed a few tears and will most definitely bob your head and tap your toes as MJ rehearses classic hits from the beginning to the end of his musical career. Bonus: doccie.
