CD: Florence and the Machine - Ceremonials

On this, the UK indie pop band’s second release, Florence Welch and her cohorts rely heavily on gospel choirs, giving the
album an overall ethereal, almost New Age feel.

That might make you think it’s all wishy-washy but it’s anything but.

There are hints of Adele, Kate Bush and Tori Amos’ signature breathy soulfulness, especially on the first single What the Water Gave Me.

Also listen out for Shake it Out and Only If For a Night.
