We’re more used to seeing him mincing around the corridors of Ontv doing his thing as an IT specialist. But today there’s no trace of Isidingo’s Prada – and the man who portrays him looks more like the star of a top-class Bollywood production.
Ashish Gangapersad (27), clad in a cream, gold and red Indian suit complete with beaded turban, is shifting anxiously in his chair beside his parents, Baboo and Shanitha, awaiting the first glimpse of his bride.
But there’s no acting here, this is the real deal: a traditional Hindu wedding to the woman who has won his heart.
His face lights up as Sydal Subrayen (26) walks down the white carpet on the arm of her brother, Trevor.
Dressed in a heavily embellished burgundy lehenga – a traditional wedding outfit – she too looks as if she has stepped off the set of a Bollywood film.
