Egoli's final bow

South Africa's first local soapie Egoli airs its final episode on M-Net tonight at 18h30.

The finale comes a little earlier than expected. When the decision to end the show was announced in 2008, the final airing date was March 31. But tonight is your last chance to catch a glimpse of local soapie history that's been on our screens for almost 18 years. Franz Marx really got this one right.

From tomorrow, 3 March, the timeslot will be filled with 18 special episodes recounting the highlights of the show's career.

I'm not a dying fan but did like watching it now and then....I decided to watch the final episode tonight and see how things will end and I guess We all wanted a kind of happy ending, a closure BUT I was really disappointed
Everything was just still left open and your waiting for tomorrows episode to air to see what will happen but then you remember that was it... Instead of having Candy marry Rex and letting them live happily ever after & then they brought her ex back WHY would they do that if they knew that it will be the last episode Why couldn't they just let it go... now there is the anticipation of what will happen next and also this HUGH disappointment of we'll never know..... It's like someone just pulled the plug and there it's over!! It will be missed but all good things has to come to an end at some point....Just wished they would have put more thought into it....
