Mango Groove Postpone the Carnival City Concert and DVD shoot to the 18th of September: Claire diagnosed with acute Laryngitis.
Mango Groove regret to announce that, owing to circumstances beyond their control, they will be postponing the Carnival City Big Top Arena Concert and DVD shoot scheduled for this Saturday the 29th of May. The new date has been confirmed for September the 18th.
In the words of founder member (and Claire’s husband), John Leyden:
‘’We are really disappointed about this, and sincerely hope that it does not cause anyone too much inconvenience. Claire has had flu for the last 10 days, and after a performance last Saturday, her voice disappeared entirely. Claire had a full examination on the Monday with Dr. Neil Scott, an ENT specialist at the Morningside Clinic in Sandton. He diagnosed laryngitis and a small nodule, and in addition to prescribing cortisone and other medications, strongly advised that Claire should rest and not speak or sing for several days. We were hoping this would effect a quick recovery, but Claire’s progress has been slow, and she is far from recovered: With this in mind, and wanting to avoid more permanent damage to her voice, we had no option but to postpone the show.’’
‘’We are really disappointed, as you can imagine, as weeks of work and pre-production have gone into the event. We are looking forward to the September show, however, and sincerely hope that all of those who booked tickets for the event will be able to come through to the next show’’
For all of those who have booked tickets, these will be fully refundable, or alternatively transferable to the show on the 18th. All relevant information will be put up on both the Mango Groove and Computicket websites, and people will also be contacted directly.
