Meet the 40 finalists in our popular Sexy Gran competition in 8 April’s issue – then vote for your favourite and a water-resistant digital camera could be yours! We chose 40 finalists from the hundreds of entries we received – now help us choose the winners by selecting your favourite gran.

How to vote:
Send an SMS with the word GRAN and the number of your favourite among the final 40 to 34922. Each SMS costs R2 and you may vote as many times as you wish if you want to help your favourite to score well. Each vote will constitute an entry into the competition for the prize of a Fujifilm FinePix Z33WP waterproof camera worth R2 500. You must own the phone you use to vote or have the permission of the owner to use it for this purpose.

    Congrats to all the lovley grannies who were 1st, 2nd & 3rd well done. I was no 29 and am so proud that I just got a nod from the judges. Winning is not everything to all people, but letting others enjoy their glory is first prize. Maybe it just was not your time to win. All 40 grannies are winners in some special way.
    God bless all the other grannies who never entered, they say the best never enter...... You have to
    be in it to win it.

    To What, maybe you should check out the Huisgenoot comments then you will see that no's 15, 20, 1 25, 12, 29 have also all been voted for by their families. Stop been so critical and vindictive, it's natural for the families to vote for their beloved grannies.

    It can only be because these two families love care and take an interest in their mother and granny?
    If you read the rules the judges had already cast their vote which included finalist 22 and 27? Great for them, as it was the judges vote that got them in the magazine as a finalist.
    It is now in the hands of the public to vote for their favourite gran which does not include the judges at all.
    Wake up!!

    It is obvious that the grannies got their families to try and influence the judges in these blogs??? It seems that the readers did not show much interest as there are mainly 2 families trying to boost their favorites??????????

    My vote goes to my mother, Gran 15. My children entered her because they think that she is the BEST GRAN. We live in the U.K and she saved for a long time to bring us all over the S.A for a fantastic holiday. She makes sure that she visits us once a year and I could not wish for a better Mother and Gran to my children. She has a HEART OF GOLD and is always there for us, and always looks and dresses beautifully. We love you Gran 15.

    My vote goes to gran no 29 as she is beautiful. stylish, compassionate about people
    and the typical modern day gran. Yes a lot of them have looked after themselves extremely well, but it s not appropriate for a woman of that age in a sexy gran competition to drape around half naked . It s distastefull, cheap and nasty. It belongs in the FHM or on of those magazines.

    Colleen Hartenstein Gran 29 is my cousin and I am so very proud of her being in the top 40 granny's in South Africa. I can remember when she was 24 and was one of the Sunday Tribune Golden Girl of
    the year finalists and there were only 12 of them out of the whole of SA.
    Sorry couz but our vote in USA does not count just to let everyone know that you are the one.

    My mother (Gran 29) Colleen Hartenstein is no mutton dressed as lamb, she is very stylish
    and has poise and grace. Not need to hang out all the wobbly bits to show how sexy you are. I am out of the country and was not able to vote. Mom you rock!!

    the sexiest granny is with no doubt is Granny Colleen Hartenstein 29 - she is the full package : sexy, glamous, fun and also ready to spend time with the family. My son Joshua who is her Nephew calls her 'Granny Aunty Col' and says he just loves her!

    I 28 now and wished I look like these sexy grans. Especially no 22. I can't believe how god looking these finalists are. It shows that you can still be sexy even when you're in your 60's or 70's. Good luck to you all. I know your families are all proud of you and don't see it as something to be ashamed of

    Some like it some don't - the jelous one's will indeed not like the sexy grannies appearing in the finalists, because they could not make it or ever look this good!! So i say to all the finalist who have taken good care of themselves good luck to each of you - you are all winners. To reach the top 40 chosen from hundreds of entries is a great achievement. Keep your head up high finalists we are proud of you!! I vote for Gran no 22 as she shows her whole body and looks stunning for her age!!

    Dear Debbie.I wish that you were able to put your photo and age up so that we can see what you look like, before you start degrading grannies over 50.
    For over 50 i think they all look stunning and they all take very good care of themsselves.
    I am in my fiftys and in my young days our grannies never looked so stunning.

    I am a 43 year old proud granny and would have liked to have entered the You Sexy Granny Competition but was upset to see that you have to be fifty years of age to be a granny. I feel that the competition should have been open to all grans irrelevant of age, and the competition should have age categories like most competitions, ie (40 - 50) (50 - 60) etc. You cant really compare a fity year old to a sixty year old, this would have made the competition more fare.

    I am the son of no 27 and I am so proud of my mother as she has never let
    herself go and become fat, lazy and unable to always be there for us and
    her grandchildren. She is the most hardworking lady, always gardening,
    sewing, painting the most beautiful paintings, gyming, giving belly dance
    classes, yet always has time for us all. I am very proud of my beautiful mother,
    Ahe has always been, and still is a hands on mom and grandmother, She will
    do anything for us all and listen to all our gripes without ever complaining.

    i think this is a fantastic way for grans to feel young, gorgeous and sexy again! and when i was looking at the finalists in the magazine i saw some grans who looked 25!!! i was amazed how good all the finalists look!
