Nutty beer bread

There’s no limit to beer bread variations! Walnuts are a delicious addition in this version.

Serves 4
Preparation: 10 min
Cooking: 30-40 min

  • 1 packet (500 g) self-raising flour
  • 125-250 ml (½-1 c) bran
  • 100 g walnuts, roughly chopped (keep a few unbroken halves for the top)
  • 1 can (340 ml) beer plus 125 ml (½ c)

Preheat the oven to 180 °C.

Mix all the ingredients, spoon into a greased roasting pan and bake until done, 30-40 minutes. Serve with butter.
