Hi everyone is upbeat about the Gautrain, but very little has been published about the high-speed train known as the Metroblitz which operated between Pretoria and Johannesburg in the eighties and was able to travel at 160kph.There was also an experimental high-speed train which reached speeds of 245kph both running on the standard Cape guage.
