The former Miss South Africa and Miss World and her businessman husband, D’Niel Strauss, welcomed their little boy into the world on Sunday – and the new parents are brimming with gratitude.
“I would never have dreamed that a person could have so much love for such a small, perfect little human,” Rolene told YOU.

“I realise starting my studies again this Monday will take some adjustment, but I have an incredible support network and I know it’s more than possible.
“I’m looking forward to completing my medical degree this year whilst still being the best mommy possible, in spite of all the challenges.”
The brunette beauty told YOU last year that her family’s domestic helper, Maria Mashinini, who’s worked for Rolene’s family in Volksrust, Mpumalanga, for the past 23 years, will be living with Rolene in Bloemfontein for the year to help with the baby. Rolene’s mom, Theresa Strauss, will also help out regularly.
Proud dad D’Niel says his heart is bursting with gratitude for their little chap.
“We’re thankful for the privilege of being able to call a strong, healthy little boy ours,” he says. “We love him more each day. We’d like to thank Dr Iniel Hattingh and the staff of George Mediclinic for the friendly and professional service we received.
“We’re getting incredible support from our families – especially Grandma Theresa and Grandma Amelia Strauss [D’Niel’s mom]. We’ll strive to be the best parents out of gratitude for the little miracle that’s been entrusted to us.”
Rolene and D’Niel were holidaying with their parents in Hartenbos near Mossel Bay before the birth. The couple met each other here in 2011 also got engaged in Hartenbos in late 2014, soon after Rolene was crowned Miss World.
The couple, who were married in February last year, shared the happy news of the pregnancy with YOU readers about five months ago.
They knew their baby was expected around New Year’s and were in a constant state of readiness during their Hartenbos holiday.
On Sunday, shortly after the birth, Rolene wrote on Instagram: “Welcome little Prince.
You have stolen our hearts and filled it with the greatest Love and Joy imaginable. We are all healthy, happy and ever grateful for our 4.18 kg bundle of joy. My little boy, this world is your oyster…”
Congratulations, Rolene and D’Niel, we share your joy! Enjoy every moment with your little prince.
